          He’s gone on to that big gym in the sky where all the lights are white and the weights feel light.

            An end of an era for sure! Man, I still can remember seeing him(as if it was yesterday!) do the first ever official C&J with 500# at that big meet in Columbus,Ohio!

              Two members of the JWC were in Columbus that day. They were Wayne Smith and Wayne Gardner. In 2009 I went to the Arnold Fit Expo and they had the barbell that the record was broken on. Misha Kokleav (sp?) Did a Clean & Jerk with it. I got to touch it and inspect it closely….kind of like seeing the bat that Babe Ruth hit a home run with. (I also know many were upset they let Misha lift that barbell so let’s not go there on this thread). Alexeev was one of a kind in many ways. I probably most admire his mental approach to lifting.
