Hmn, thought I posted a response. I like the heavy lifts and so I usually work them in once a week on Monday’s. Normally will do Neck and then either Hand and Thigh or Hip lift. Also adding in Dinnie Stone training on that day. I have been doing more higher rep stuff than low rep for the heavy lifts as I think I am more of a rep guy.
The heavy lifts are hard to incorporate into a training program. Recovery from heavy lift training days takes some time, and in the meantime, it interferes with your other training, especially if you are focusing on lower body training (ie squats and deadlifts). I don’t train any of the heavy lifts regularly. I usually only train them a couple of times before an approaching meet, and on the day Chad shows up!!!! Al
I used to do them at the end of workouts. I used to pick just one and slowly work my way up to a heavy set between 10 to 20 reps. This usually only covered harness and hip. For hand n thigh I would keep the reps and weight lower in percent to maximum and work on the lean back. Same for neck lift.
