Steve – We (the USAWA) only have two approved fulton (2″ handle) dumbbell lifts – the Deadlift – 2 fulton dbs, and the Deadlift – fulton db, one arm. I sure agree with you on this – it seems those other basic dumbbell lifts should also be done with a fulton dumbbell. Al

Of note, and Tom may remember this more, I am sure at one time that it was agreed that any barbell or dumbbell lift could be duplicated using the 2″ bar/dumbbell. But didn’t see anything in the original rules about that.

The first line of the USAWA Rulebook for the Fulton Bar lifts states: “Fulton Bar Lifts are approved for all bar lifts using a a Fulton Bar and the rules of the individual lifts.” During the 3rd edition Rulebook review, Bill Clark was adamant it was stated this way. This line specifically states BAR LIFTS and not dumbbell lifts. This may be an issue to address at the National Meeting this year???? Al

Thanks For your comments guy’s. My home internet has been down all week, so this is the first chance i have had to read your comments. I think i will speak to Steve Gardner about getting 2″ dumbell lifts added for all dumbbell lifts. Steve
