I know for myself, when I have had times that I was not able to lift, I was sometimes in more pain that when I was able to lift. I have not competed in a USAWA meet yet, but if I had one complaint is that I wish neoprene was allowed for the knees and elbows. But considering how there are so many older lifters lifting big weights and they don’t need it, I can’t complain.
Jesse, that’s a can of worms with the old timers, but I, too, wish some reasonable gear would be allowed in the lifting. I also understand it’s a slippery slope having been involved in powerlifting for years.
