Al,
I also enjoyed the story of your grandfather, who was obviously both strong and talented. I’ll add that Harry White was the father of the renowned grip specialist and outstanding deadlifter Bruce White, who passed away several years ago. I assume that his father is also deceased because Bruce would be 76 if he were still alive.

great story Al,
Your grandpa was a great guy, he was always out puttering in the shop when we would be doing our strongman training, I called him Mr. Myers and he corrected me that it was Grandpa Myers, lol. He also got me to try his excerciser and said that maybe he needed to build a larger unit for me, lol. Wonderful human being!!

Thanks Alan for the great article on Dad. I remember when I was growing up Dad could out work anyone in our
community. I think it was a pride thing with him. -

Thanks everyone for the nice comments on my story about my Grandfather. He was a GREAT MAN and knew how to live life to the fullest. Everyday was an adventure for him. I second what Dad said about his competitiveness. Grandpa liked to be the best, always gave his best, and never “threw” a competition just to be a nice guy. I remember the day I was finally able to outrun him. Before that when we would race, he went all out and would beat me (usually soundly). Most Granddads would let “junior” win one now and then -but my Grandfather taught me a lesson that more kids need to learn nowadays. And that is you need to WORK for things instead of having things given to you. He told me he knew I would eventually beat him, and when I did it would mean something to me. So true, so true.
Eric – I will never forget that very nice tribute that you wrote about your Grandpa Gus for Milo a few years ago. Your Grandfather and mine were very much alike. Al

Al, the story about your grandfather is one of your best yet. I was sad and very impressed by the time I finished it.

That was a fantastic story Al! I hate to agree with Thom, but it was heartwarming.

I have had the honor to know Grandpa Myers the longest of the Dino Gym members. I remember the first time I met him back in 1995 I called him Grandpa instead of Clyde it just fit. Al the is an Awesome tribute to a Great Man of God! He is also the Heart and Soul of The Dino Gym. Not a Tuesday night goes by that I don’t think about him especially when I look at Our LOGO! Great Story Bud!
