I’ll be there! Who else is competing? Dan Wagman and RJ Jackson are both in Colorado, and I think are pretty close to the contest location. So hopefully they’ll both be there.
I was originally planning to take a bus there. But a few days ago I decided to drive my Mach-E and have the “adventure” (lol) of planning charging stops along the way. But I think it will be amusing and I may just go for a short run every time I stop for charging along the way.
Looking forward to getting to spend some time with Sanjiv before and after the contest too.

Wow, this is get is getting exciting. I was afraid that it would just be Kim, Jarrod, Nisha and myself. Then Ben reached out and I took a sigh of relief. With Denny throwing down, this is going to become a fun championship. If we get a few more people, I will be thrilled to find a larger venue.

I looked up the Nemesis loadable Inch handle. It is very impressive in appearance. They have the offset handle too, which I don’t think you’re referring to. The one I think you’re talking about is the one that you screw the bolts into. It looks super slick. Does it take chalk? Or is it better to use the old “water trick?” – where you wet your hands and then rub them vigorously together until they get tacky and then immediately grab the bar to lift while your hand is still super tacky.
I have never seen the FBBC Final Form vbar in person. But it is another grip implement that I thought about buying over the years. Same general question about chalk – does it hold chalk? Or are tacky hands best on it?

The Nemesis grips “fat dumbbells” have a full 2.5″ diameter and take standard axle bar collars. I do not see this size on their website anymore. The handles take chalk very well and I expect records to be broken.
The FBBC Final Form V-Bar does not take chalk as well as it is unfinished steel. In a few more years with some seasoning I think that will improve. Expect your lifts to be lower than they would be with 1.9″ pipe or other painted implements.

5 weeks until the contest! Unrelated to the grip events, but will you have the Bavarian Deadlift setup available if I want to see what it feels like?

I could set up the Bavarian Deadlift for you. My set up is a little sketchy as I set up 12 inch plyo boxes on stall mats. The loading pin and 1″ handle is safe enough, but as you go heavy in a sumo stance elevated on blocks that are not bolted to the floor you can see the potential for hamstring/groin injuries if anything shifts.
