I’m sorry that I can’t attend the Nationals due to personal issues at home, and I wish all the lifters and participants and their families a safe and successful meet. I am going to be brief with my comments about some of the proposals being discussed at the National meeting and I am for anything within reason which will help the USAWA grow. I agree that there are already enough lifts to train for and record in the record list and that there are certainly enough of a variety of lifts so anyone should be able to participate. Not everyone is going to like all the lifts or be able to do them all. As far as eliminating some of the lesser done lifts from the record list, if that is what the majority think is best for the USAWA, then it’s okay with me as long as they still count as records in the Century Club. As far as the definition of the type of shirt to be worn, I think most people know what a t-shirt is, as long as it isn’t controversial or offensive and the sleeves are above the elbow to make judging easier. Other than that, I believe the rules regarding apparel are clear enough. The knee sleeve issue could get a little sticky, especially when there are so many different kinds of sleeves. I’m getting a little wordy so I will leave that issue alone for now. If a bar is used to do the Saxon Snatch, then is it really a Saxon Snatch? I am not really in favor of the Bavarian Deadlift, unless meet directors want to include it as an exhibition lift. Sorry, this got so long. Also, thanks to those involved in keeping the record list, as it can be a daunting task.

Sorry Bill Clark. Didn’t mean to slight you, as you too had put out a great All-Round Journal at one time, much like the Strength and Health magazine in its day.

Nice to see write-ups about the meets and information about the lifters. Reminds me of the days of Strength and Health magazine with different stories about the lifters and the various contests around the country. My compliments to Sanjiv and Ben and the other members who write into the Forum and post the results of the meets. Also, to Johnny and Sanjiv for the difficult task of keeping the record list up to date. My best to all the members.

My sincere condolences to Steve, the family of Karen and those others who knew what a great lifter, but more importantly, a great person and lovely lady Karen was in this life. May she rest in eternal peace.

Thanks Eric for a nice tribute to a true character and personality in the all-round world of lifting. Rest in peace, Dean.

Good luck and lifting to all those lifting in the Grip Championships on Saturday. Wish I lived closer so I could get involved with all the great meets in the Kansas and Missouri area. Thanks to all for keeping all-round lifting alive and well.

Glad to read you are doing much better and taking steps to help you through this temporary setback. Keep in mind that you are not alone in this and that you have good friends who are praying for you and helping you along the way. Take care, Ben

Awesome participation in the 2nd quarter postal meet, and the postal series seems to be growing. Thanks to Denny for his untiring devotion to heading this series as well as his leadership of the USAWA. Also, nice to see some new lifters participating.

This is my first time entering anything on the forum and I hope to be more active in the future. I just want to add what a wonderful Nationals Denny and Judy held. It was a small but mighty group of lifters, not necessarily including myself, with a number of records being set and Denny and Aiden providing some drama to the meet with their thrilling personal battle within the competition. Thanks again to Judy and Denny for organizing a first class meet and all those who contributed in many and all ways to make it a huge success.
