Oh jeez….
Roger,
I guess it depends on background and influence imo. We were watching some old Usawa videos, and they used it do it more like the English currently do. Speaking just for myself, I’m sure that’s the way Al showed me and it felt more comfortable so I stuck with that style. I know my form is pretty bad on all my oly lifts, my 1 arm snatch is somewhere around 80% of my regular alsoVery good article Al. I know I need to train my deadlift more. It’s never been a strength of mine for sure!
I saw Bob and Mark, but missed Chuck!Well said Al. I’ve really enjoyed getting to visit with Frank the last couple of years. I’m glad he’s getting back into it! He has a ton of knowledge and has helped me out on several occasions. I’ll be praying for a quick recover Frank!
That was a great article on Larry! He clearly has a lot of knowledge and has incredible lifting accomplishments! I’d love to hear more about his machine.
I think this will be epic Thom, I can’t wait! My entry will be in the mail tomorrow. Really looking forward to this
I don’t believe a narrower grip on the pullover would help. I actually take a wider grip for the pullover. It’s harder for me to get the bar to my chest with even a bp grip width. I can’t get my elbows underneath enough to get it to my chest.
Couldn’t agree more Al, what a weekend! I can hardly believe yesterday was only 24 hours long! It started for me at 4:30am, waking up and driving to Manhattan for our flight. I’ll say this for the Wildcats, I’m spoiled when it comes to flying now! From the time we touched down, it was literally 10 minutes later and I was on the highway, amazing. We had a 3 hour layover in Chicago, another hour or so flight and within a half hour of landing we were lifing! Can’t think of a better way, LOL. After the lifting, eating, storytelling and clock changing we got about 4 hours of sleep and started the trek home. It was a blast, but I am worn out!
Al told me when he got into All-round that it was like the highland game of weight lifting, with everyone helping each other out. A great example was this weekend with Joe giving Al and I pointers on the neck lift! I know this is a lift he takes great pride in and his highly skilled so I was eager to hear his tips! I wasn’t thinking anywhere near 750 when I heard we were doing the neck lift. My good friend Dave had some choice words for me the last time I mentioned trying a neck lift with the issues I’ve had over past year, LOL.
It was another fun weekend, and I’m really glad I was able to make it again.
ChadI think that is a great step!
That was a fantastic story Al! I hate to agree with Thom, but it was heartwarming.
I don’t know about the marriage advice….It’s even worse than his dating advice and we all know how that worked out for Ted!

Well, first, I’m said if I sent Dr. Dino a question, that’s what it would be…..as if I didn’t know who he was.Second, You are 100% right about your honesty in story telling, I don’t believe a dang thing Chad tells me now!
I must have missed this post, LOL. Al has his version of honesty in story telling for sure. The key is that he sprinkles just enough of the truth to be able to say he’s being honest. We all know the key is exaggeration and Al is a very good story teller!!
Wish I could make it too! The slopes are calling me!
That was a great article, Al.
Thom, those stories get better because Al keeps adding things to them! That’s OK, I have some stories too. Next time I see you, remind me to tell you why it’s really called the Dino gym!
Mark,
Easy on the 5-3-1, Dave just started that! He and Al and lengthy email exchanges regarding that program. -
