What’s going on here??? I KNOW I put the amount in the last post. I’ll do it a different way – Fifty dollars. Al
I should have mentioned that! A printed copy is $50. Al
“Da Nial isn’t just a river in Egypt” hahahahaha I bet you use THAT one every day in your counseling sessions! I bet you’re just like that ex-drill instructor shrink in that TV commercial that called his patient a jackwagon!! haha Al

Great job Tom!!! I bet it felt really good to get “back on the platform”. The older I get the more respect and admiration I have for those older than me that still compete. Because I know it doesn’t get easier! I’m old enough now that I’m starting to feel aches and pains that I didn’t before I was 40. The weight on the bar may not be what it used to be – but the physical and mental aspect may be tougher the older you get. By this I mean the body is usually “broken” somewhere, and you are wise enough to know that you probably shouldn’t be doing what you’re doing!! Al
Thom, We have 164 official USAWA lifts. Counting the finger lifts and the one arm lifts that gives a total of 197 eligible overall records in the 125+ class. In our Record List ONLY 157 have been established in the Overall, 125 kg+ slot. That gives you 40 records that you can set with a 135# token lift. Of course, some of these lifts that are left are lifts like the Van Dam Lift in which 135# would not be token. But you got a good start – of your 15 overall records, 13 were set with pounds less than 135# and 2 with 225#s!!!! haha I’m too hard on you Thom!!! Do you still want the list?? Al
Whoa!! Now I feel like I’m getting ganged up on!!
I admit chewing is probably not the best for you – but alot of things are just as bad. I’ve always said every man has to have one vice, and that is my one. Actually – I only know one man who doesn’t have a vice and that is my Dad, so this is not aimed towards him. Thom – how many fully loaded mountain dews do you drink in a day?? That can’t be good for the ole blood sugar. I know lifters that knock down a 6-pack of beer after working out. That can’t be good for you. I won’t even start with lifters and their bad diets – loaded with sodium and fats. How bout all the supplements lifters take? Who knows the impact they have on the liver and body organs. Even though they may help your strength, are they really all that healthy for ya??
All I’m saying is that EVERYONE has a bad habit – and you’re doing good if you limit it to only one!!! At least, according to Thom, my habit of nicotine is beneficial to my lifting!!! Al
These different squat bars sure “mix things up” with your squat training. I think that is the main use for them. The biggest obstacle in squatting is the “mind game”, and trying to stay focused on having hard squat workouts. These “special bars” don’t get used much, but when they do they really can recharge your attitude. Sometimes just getting away from straight bar squats for a while will help your mental attitude. Al
Ben – I didn’t receive it yet. I assume the check was for USAWA membership (since the grip challenge doesn’t have an entry fee). I didn’t receive that either. Al
Thom – I checked the record book and there are still a few OVERALL records left that can be broken with a token lift of 135#. So you can get one Al
Chad – I’m not involved at all with this personal attack on you – blame it all on Thom the Marlboro Man. Al

HACK HACK HACK Geez, thanks Thom!
HACK HACK HACK Geez, thanks Thom!
Ben – I’m not really sure on this. Also, the steel plank (or block bar as we call it) is painted with a gloss slick black paint. I need to do some pinch dl with the saxon plank, and then I would know. Al
