In all seriousness, seated lifts have been overlooked in the USAWA. We got a couple of clean and seated presses (in front and behind neck) and two seated presses taken from the rack (in front and behind neck). We have one db seated press – the clean and seated press with dumbbells. That’s it! I remember reading that Hermann Goerner did LOTS of exercises seated – cleans, snatches, curls. Also, our seated presses do NOT allow for a back support. All must be done on a flat seat, with no bracing allowed. That sure makes seated presses way harder!!! So for you Tom – we will have to call your new lift the Recliner Press!! haha Al
hahahahahahhahahahahahahaahahhaha
Sorry Tom – that story is just so good!!! It belongs as a USAWA Daily News Story – so it can be shared with the World! Your talents are being wasted just writing something that funny for the forum – I beg you to send me a picture of you doing those one arm presses in that recliner of yours. Please? Please? I promise if I get the picture I will make it front page news!! Al
OUTSTANDING! The Dino Gym is very pet friendly – if you have ever lifted at the Dino Gym you will know that several of my cats are always in the gym when we train. It is not uncommon to have 3 or 4 cats “lounging” around while we are hitting heavy squats. One of my cats “Rosie” has taken a liking to Mark and will sleep in his gym bag as he trains! Al
Ben, the Sumo DL is not against any rules of deadlfts in the USAWA, unless foot stance is specifically stated, ie heels together or 12″ base. All 3 deadlift events in the Grip Nationals (DL -3″bar, DL – middle fingers, and DL – FB, CG) all state in their rules “the rules of the deadlift apply”. In the rule of the deadlift, it clearly states that “width of feet placement is optional”. So – not a problem with sumo pulls, all of which are perfectly within the rules. Where did you ever get the idea that sumo pulls were illegal?? Al PS haha I think I know – I was there that day when you got this “misinformation”.
Chad – My advice to you about you using the dog shock collar might have been a bit over the top. Al
OUCH!!! I promise not to miss the next one! 0 for 2 is not good on my part…. or yours.
But Chad – the advice I gave did turn out ok for me – I got invited along on your “divorcemoon”. haha
I guess you are off the hook Thom. I have identified the “culprit” and it wasn’t you!!! But you gotta wonder – why did I accuse you first????? LOL
OK JOKERS – WHICH ONE OF YOU PUT THAT GOOFY PICTURE WITH MY STORY AND SAID IT WAS ME???
THOM – YOU ARE ON THE TOP OF MY LIST FOR THIS ONE. REMEMBER – PAYBACKS ARE ****!!!! I GOT A DIRT FILE KNEE-DEEP ON YOU AND YOU DON’T WANT ME TO OPEN IT UP!!!!!! RRRRRRR…. I’M MAD NOW.
I’m now through June!!! Over 200 pages and close to 100,000 words so far! Al
FAR FETCHED STORIES???? ME????
No one has ever accused me of that!! I don’t stretch the facts, I don’t embellish a story, and I always remember things exactly as they happen. It’s just that Chad doesn’t like to be reminded of the TRUTH!!! haha Al
The “checks in the mail” rates right up there with “oh, I forgot my wallet” and “whoops, I’m out of check blanks!”, both of which are followed by “I’ll get you the money tomorrow”. As you can tell, I’ve heard it all before! haha Al
Roger – I greatly enjoy your articles too! That was a super feature on Rick Meldon this month. He has been a great lifter for so long – well deserving. Actually, in looking over authors in this past month’s MILO, I must have personally met over half of them!! Al
HAHA
Please give me a call Tedd if you want more dating advice. I got LOTS of other great tips – like how to clean yourself with Betadine surgical scrub. Al
