ET – I think around 20 or so more bios have been added. Al
Tedd – this is just like Thom – say one thing and then does the other! It wasn’t too long ago that he accused the Dino Gym of bringing in a ringer (John Conner) as a club member and now he has JWC members in DIFFERENT STATES!! And he said this despite the fact that Big John trains at the Dino Gym at least once per week!!!! HYPOCRISY – that’s the word I’m looking for!!! Al
“not allowed to see it”??? What was this – a secret workout program? Or was Thom too busy writing motivational speeches and forgot about the little things like lifts, reps, and sets?? haha I wish I was there to see it!!! Al
That’s sure a nice promo on the IronMind website!!! Thanks Thom for that one! Al
Great job Tedd – sometime those “bootcamp” training weeks are the best way to jumpstart a serious training program. Now just keep after it. But I wonder – was Thom “barking” that ridiculous poem of his at you while you were training? I have a vision of Thom acting like a drill sergeant throughout the entire week. Al
I want to “second” that! Joe has worked really hard on the record list lately and has made changes to the lift names in the record list so they are the same as in the Rule Book. I think this is a VERY IMPORTANT improvement! This way lifters can look a lift up in the Record List, and then read about the rule in the Rule Book under the same name! Lots of the problems in the past arose because meet directors would list lifts in their results sheets with lifts named differently than EITHER the record list or rule book, and thus leave Joe scratching his head in confusion! We can’t blame Joe for this – because it’s OUR fault!
I KNOW Joe has been working hard to sort out these past problems – and ONLY knows if someone points them out to him. So, everyone, take the time and request your records from him and check them yourselves. If you see a problem and have proof that a mistake occurred, Joe is more than willing to get them corrected. Keep up the great work Joe!! Al
For what???? I’ve been telling you for a week we need to get it announced!! The USAWA membership is getting restless waiting on the details! Al
That’s right Ben, and truth be known, you were the reason I was worried I might be killed if I missed the 1000 pounds! haha Al
How about someone getting on the ball and announce the USAWA National Championships!!!!
Thanks Denny for those kind words about Howard – I placed them in the “tribute blog” on the website. I only wish I would have met Howard sooner (when he was actively involved in the USAWA). From reading everyone’s experiences regarding Howard, I know we would have “hit it off” and been good friends. I have some of his same obsessions regarding trying “weightlifting stunts” that I probably shouldn’t be doing. I have only felt like I have really put my life at risk ONCE lifting – and that was when I did that big Roman Chair Situp like Howard did. It wasn’t until it was over did I think of the consequences of what could have happened if I missed it! Al
And be like me and and eat LOTS OF FOOD today!! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Al
Tom – I believe Frank Lamp has stepped down as the General Secretary of the Australian All-Round Group. Justine Martin is the meet director for the coming year’s World championship. Al
Perth.
Tom, I have seen those videos of Bruners from that meet. I’m glad you mentioned them so others can look them up on YouTube. They are pretty long video files that show several lifters performing a lift in one video. I wish they were individual so each lifter could be identified. As you said, several of the lifters didn’t really compete in the USAWA after that meet and I didn’t know who some were. Frank Ciavattone has given me a tape of that entire meet that I have copied – so besides those two lifts I have watched the ENTIRE MEET. It had to be one of the largest and best USAWA meets ever. Plenty of great lifting (you included Tom!) – but obvious Bill didn’t have a pee cup at the meet!! I wouldn’t be surprised if THAT was the meet that motivated Bill to start testing in the USAWA.
Tom – if I put some of the clips from that meet on our USAWA YouTube Account, would you help me in identifying some of lifters? Al
This is going to be a GREAT MEET – so plan now on attending. Thom is going to do some things that haven’t been done before in promotion. I’m expecting a big turnout of competitors. Al
