i’ve noticed a lot of relief in my back from wearing the vibrams. i’m wearing regular cross trainers right now because i have a broken toe on one foot & a dislocated one on the other, so getting the vibrams on is a bit of a chore. i have noticed more discomfort in my back since going back to regular shoes.

you know what’s funny, i dropped a dumbbell & broke my toe at thet gym the day after putting up the original post! i was wearing my vibrams, but i don’t think that chuck taylors would have really offered me any more protection. in any case, thanks for the input. training barefoot feels good, but i wanted to check in with more experienced lifters before i kept on with it.

al & chad, last time i had looked into lasik (been a while) you couldn’t do contact sports after having the surgery. is that still the case?

wow. last time i was tested (about a decade ago), i was 20/400 in one eye & 20/600 in the other. if there’s a way to reverse that even a bit, i’ll check it out.

lots of lurkers, i’m sure! i love this website, the layout is easy to navigate & there is a ton of useful info. i’m sure a lot of folks signed up to read the insights of lifters on this forum. too bad they have to sort through my stuff too.

ben i’d love to have some experienced guys there. i’m a little apprehensive about promoting without having competed, but i’m in the right spot & a lot of the members i’ve talked to about all-around lifting seem really interested. the worst that can happen is i’ll fail miserably, & that just means success is around the corner, lol.

al, i got the okay from the gym to run it THIS winter, if that’s okay. i would be really honored to promote the first all-around meet in colorado. i was thinking october or november.

really enjoyed that one as well. while i’m little by strongman, highland games, & USAWA standards, it’s nice to know i’m bigger than charles atlas! admittedly, he was probably slightly better proportioned. slightly.

good sum up! thanks for the input. i’m not going to describe how i do it; you can just picture a monkey becoming intimite with a football & get the idea of how it looks at this point. i have been practicing doing a split on my snatch since overhead squats just aren’t going to work for me. besides, i figure it my strengthen my split for the c&j as well.

ecstatic. followed by some tightness in the back, but i took it easy the rest of the day until my adjustment. i don’t think i should push it again anytime soon, but 95 didn’t feel like an actual max.

                                  did 95lbs today…on a barbell. don’t tell my doctor!
