Steve, once you get your outer collars removed, just have your welder cut 2 5.5 ” or 6″ pieces like the one the ring is attached to and slide them on each side of the center sleeve.
Don’t know how it will hold up to the weight, but the design is pretty much just like our hip belt with the big rings, except that it looks a little shorter.
Steve,
Most of our bars have a sleeve that fits over the bar, with the ring attached to the sleeve. This sleeve can be anywhere from 16″ long to 42″ long. So with the sleeve at 16″ long, then the ends become the stops for the plates and they (plates) will be 16″ apart. So if you don’t have sleeves, you would have to set the collars to keep the plates 16″ apart.I’d love to, but am committed to announcing our high school rodeo this weekend. Have fun guys.
Put the nut on before you go to cut and then cut flush on the outside of the nut. When done, un-thread the nut, and that will help keep the threads clean.
Matt’s lift was listed as 2″ Overhand deadlift in the contest, and no mention was made about using a hook grip.
Tom, yes glad you are still upbeat after all that. Haven’t talked to Bill in a couple of days, he was going in for some surgery yesterday. I did update Deloris on your status. Take care.
Sorry, didn’t see that. Actually, I have been training deadlifts on Fridays. I remember in the past that deadlifts helped my heavy lifting but not the other way around.
Thanks, didn’t even see that in the paper.
I try to throw in the HT on Mondays, with some hip reps. Not real heavy, usually 800-900 on each. A couple of sets, 5-10 on the HT, and maybe 20 or so with the hip. Usually do squats first then finish with those. Also usually high rep sets with the neck 20-30+.
If you are up for a road trip, we have two coming up in just under 2 weeks in Missouri. The Deanna in Columbia on the 24th, then the Battle in the Barn over in Turney (North West Missouri) on the 25th.
Didn’t know the Dinnies was a rep lift. LOL
Those rules came over from the original gym location, where we shared parking space with other businesses in the lot. When we picked up and moved, everthing came with us, even the signs and old magazines.
I was telling my wife about that, having to do the Crucifix in two back to back meets. Course I won’t be alone, will I? Eric, Al, Thom, you guys are coming to the Deanna aren’t you?
That is correct, as long as the feet are parallel. Some of the lifts don’t lend them selves to that style, such as the 2 bar deadlift, hack, etc.
