What are you saying ET? Is that meant to be a joke?
Scott, when you get the details worked out can you post it on the forum. I have a couple guys that I train MMA with that might be interested in this.
Al, what’s the deal with the Kansas Strongest Man contest afterwards?
I don’t know guys. I feel like I’m at a disadvantage here. Since Dan is stronger than me and older. I think I should get some age adjusted points for having the disadvantage of not yet living as many years to train and get stronger. Ha
Al, I would like a printed copy.
It seems no one is gonna bite on this one Dan. Maybe their incisors are worn down from all that heavy teeth lifting. Anyway, this is an interesting topic to me. I am probably one of the younger lifters at 38 (aside from the juniors division) in the USAWA. But, from everything I see and hear…I am past my prime athletically speaking. How do you argue the observation that you simply don’t see elite level athletes competing much past their mid 30’s in any major sport. Is it that they become injured, or burn out, or just stop for some unknown reason? I am encouraged to know that science has shown that I have some years left to make improvements. I would like to hear you discuss that more. Cuz, honestly some days I feel like that Toby Keith song, “I ain’t as good as I once was”
July, 4th 1976. The 200th anniversary of us telling the Brits to kiss our collective asses.
So…Can you tell us more about this research?
I am going to try to make it out. I need some clarification on the rules of the Anderson squat and press so that I can train the same why it will be done at the meet. In the rule book it states the “squat is done from a dead stop from a height not over two thirds the height of the lifter measured from the bottom of the bar”. Ok, so in my mind that means it could be less than two thirds, but how much? An inch? Two, three, six? At the meet do the loaders adjust the rack for each lifter, for each attempt? Or do all the lifters who are between say 5’6 and 5’9 get the same rack position? An inch or two either way could make quite a difference in my mind. (I know, insert joke here). I have the same question in regards to the Anderson Press as the rules are written with the same concept.
Had a great time. Thanks ET for hosting the event.
Yes, I will be coming from just outside of Lawrence, Ks.
I’d like directions please. Can you email them to the address on my entry? Thanks
I mailed my entry today. I am assuming the start time is 10:00 am, not pm as its listed on the entry form.
You should receive mine soon. What’s the head count look like so far?
I was thinking about how we could get USAWA more exposure and wondered what it would take to have some type of competition or exhibition at the Arnold Expo. I know they have many different sporting events at this convention besides bodybuilding and thousands and thousands of people attend. Just throwing it out there as an idea.
