Your grandpa was a great guy, he was always out puttering in the shop when we would be doing our strongman training, I called him Mr. Myers and he corrected me that it was Grandpa Myers, lol. He also got me to try his excerciser and said that maybe he needed to build a larger unit for me, lol. Wonderful human being!!

Mike you impressed the heck outta me both days!! Was a fun weekend, watching the young guys come in and lift sunday was alot of fun too.

I wouldnt have been much comp overall to you guys, my 3″ bar DL would have been laughable, after seeing the chiro sunday morning though and doing some stuff Im feeling a ton better, going to try some DLing and squatting tonight. You guys were all super impressive!! very glad I got to be there to see it, Ben your 310 middle fingers DL made me hurt watching it, haha.

I liked the lifts better in that comp, than most of the new ones, lol. No arthur lift, and no steinborn sqaut.

thats what I was saying you have ot find what works for you Dave. Im not hating on the 5/3/1 program, jsut a few aspects of it dont work for me, one is that at several points you end up doing a high number of DL for reps, for me thats a recipe for disaster.

The funny thing about 5-3-1 is that alot of us already do something similar, the issue I have with alot of these programs is that they dont account for variables like having a off day, or having a day where you feel stronger. the biggest issue is that what works for some doesnt work for others, Mark and I train 3x a week together and we do some of the same stuff and then we also do some different for the exact reason that certain things work for me that dont work for him and vice versa. I go into most workouts with a idea of what I want to hit, sometimes I go heavier, sometimes lighters depensing on how its feeling.

i have a lifting secret Id like to share.
Its not ME or DE days, its not hanging Kettlebells off the bar so that flop around like a pair of bull balls, its not periodization or the conjugate method,I dont squat divebomb style onto a 9″ foam pad, here it is………………….
I take a bar and I put weights on it, I then lifts said bar, if it feels too light I put more of those weights on there and lift that, if its still too light………..well you get the picture.
Im in a mood today, the gym is going to pay, lol, well it will after the 30 minutes it will take me to hobble down the stairs at Lons.

the problem Ben is, people in general are pussies, lol. I hit some Vbars tonight, 205 each hand with the black painted, need to hit some more of these this week and next so that I dont get to embarrased. I think big Mark is going to do it also.

Im impressed by all you guys who set all these records, even by thom, lol. Honestly Im impressed by anyone who has the balls to throw on a belt and compete and train, great job to all!!
