Dan….I almost stuck with just the first line….that pretty much is all I need to say! HAHAHAHA

I appreciate the monumental effort you put into that post….I got a couple guys who think you and are are mortal enemies now….but I had to explain that’s how military service rivalries are….I can pick on my brother but nobody else can and you are my brother.

That said…..sure glad you mud puppies got plenty of ammo…that way you’ll eventually hit your target.

Dan, I actually asked you specifically because I wanted to here both your “KU trained scientist” take and your “meathead” take! HAHAHA

I have done them because my Uncle has wanted me to and he knows a lot about training….most of it I agree with…but this is one I did not see the use in it. I do 3 sets of 10….and don’t really feel much out of it. I would rather do bent arm pullovers and load the weight up!

Vern Weaver swore by these which I found odd. But I also think it’s as much your belief in an exercise that will make it work as science for many people (but not all….ultimately reality wins).

This brings me to another question, the Straight arm pullover as an exercise. I have an uncle that swears by these and I believe Vern Weaver had this as one of a half dozen exercises he swore by. However, they both did these in a lat machine.

Dan, what’s your thought on this as an exercise. I have been doing them this way or lying prone on the floor.

Typical Army, While the Marines are taking care of the country they are spending their ample spare time making fun of Marines.

Thanks, I wish I’d mentioned pulling off pins vs boxes. Really two different things!

Thanks….I even got Al to quit making fun of me using a Safety squat bar…now that he uses the top squat! Even Al has embraced the unorthodox.

Chad added to his legend this weekend with a win the the Wichita Highland Games against some tough comp. He even spotted the other guys at the beginning by not winning the first three events….but then finished the day with 5 of 6 wins. CHAD CHAD CHAD!

I also agree, great story! ET and I share a lot with how our grandfathers shaped us and how we respect that legacy, him with his Gus Lohman strongman event and me with my JWC. I share those core values and I want to pass them on to my kids….not weightlifting, but finding something, working hard, being passionate about it and never giving up!!!!

Thanks, ET. I recall you having a problem on the first one due to finding the center of gravity…an added challenge to lifting less than round stones. You then blew thru the rest! I was always impressed by your strength, but your speed in such events is what really impressed me.

Dan, you know head shots are for show. Wound your enemy and he creates a much greater burden.
