I knew Al was heading to Greece but didn’t realize it was right after. I wonder if he’ll be updating the website any? Isn’t he going to be over there awhile?
Tully, I appreciate the donation. They keep coming in and we are well over 2000 now…..a real blessing and accomplishment for those there. Sorry you were so under the weather. I think we are going to try again next year so I expect you to make it!!! See you in January! Thom

Friday: JWC Record Day, strongman show.
Saturday: Lock in at Church, youth group, 40 screaming kids…up ’til 3:00am and back up at early to fix breakfast
Sunday: Church, then lunch at Church, then quick trip home to watch the Chiefs play. Unloads weights, then out for trick or treating with the kids.It was fast, furious, and lots of fun!
My wife was supposed to come out of the kitchen at the fundraiser and take pictures of us. We got home and she said she never had a chance!!!! Well, I’ve got a line on someone who took some photos. I’m hoping they will come up with some photos! I can’t believe that we would have no photos of that incredible event. Thom

Highland Games athlete and sometimes All-RounderI will do a full write up, but we did break or set 100 records. I would also guess, but I want to get an exact write up on it…we raised over $2000 dollars. So if there is a Dino 200, they need to raise $4000 for a charity to top us!!!
I honestly thought it wouldn’t be possible, and we did pick on a lot of lifts where there was no current record, but hey, now there are marks to beat and we raised a lot of money…and I FEEL like I did it today…so SORE…but now we have an all night Church youth group lock in and I’m in charge of the bonfire, hot dog roasting and smore’s……
Special thanks to the guys that came, and to Joe, Chad…(I mean “CHAMP”), Mike Murdock for bringing the judging skills.
….and the anonymous donor who dropped 10 $100 bills towards the cause. My wife knows who it is and has refused to divulge (she really can keep a secret)….but whoever it is, we are eternally grateful. God blessed our event and I’m full of joy today…sore…but full of joy.

Highland Games athlete and sometimes All-RounderSounds good, Joe, there might be a detour on hiway 11, have to see tomorrow. I have the day off tomorrow to haul all this stuff down there so I won’t be back on line until Sat. So, if anyone needs to call about the meet my cell is 660 341 1755. Thom
PS, Al, as always, wish your daughter luck, hope you guys got something to cheer about this weekend!

Highland Games athlete and sometimes All-RounderJoe….are you thinkin’ about comin’!!!!!! I could use a good judge such as yourself. It adds credibility to what we are doing. But I’m NOT going to haul in 2000lbs of weights for you to break a record!!! haha
We will be at the NEMO Fairgrounds Multipurpose building. It is East of Kirksville on hiway 11. We will start at 5:30 and go until, well, we will go until somebody shuts the lights off on us or they pry my cold dead hands off the bar!

Highland Games athlete and sometimes All-RounderI’m just picturing some big guys showing up at the next nationals with a really old guy and wanting to demonstrate a new lift. The old guy says, “I’m Otto Zeigler and we’re gonna demonstrate the Al Myer’s 6 man Pretzel lift….get’em boys!!!!”
Anybody notice that Chad usually gets wrapped up in doing these lifts somehow when Al’s around and Al’s always got a camera!

Highland Games athlete and sometimes All-RounderI have always wanted to go as well, but not this year and next year ain’t lookin’ too good!
I am really having to take a hard look at my schedule with my priorities as far as the USAWA are concerned, being focused on the Nationals next year. That one will likely cost me a lot of husband points I’ve built up and will likely take some more that I haven’t even earned yet!!!!!
